• The taste: The initial taste is sweet, reminiscent of a tiki cocktail; but then the smokiness of the Scotch is revealed as well as the tart, bitterness from the lemon. The anise flavor from the Pernod is prominent, but does not overpower the drink. The result is a potent, complex, and not too-sweet libation.
